Bounce, Bounce, Clean!

Perhaps you're great at unpacking and putting everything away the minute you walk through your door after a trip. Maybe you take a week or two to even start that process, or you slowly work through it all once you get home.

For me, I usually take a couple of weeks to slowly work my way through the many bags for myself and children. This time, however, I managed to get everything unpacked and put away in five days! A new personal record!

I'm even organizing and purging through closets as I'm unpacking!

As my house is getting uncluttered, my head feels less cluttered as well. This is one of the best reasons to purge your house in my opinion; because if you're like me, the state of your house directly affects your mood.

But also, if you're like me, your ADHD brain makes it incredibly difficult to keep up with your house because instead of truly getting things done, you bounce from one thing to the next and get to the end of the day with nothing done but a mulititude of things started. I'm sitting in my clean room right now as I write this and I'm currently feeling very accomplished because of that.

My in-laws came over this morning to watch the kids so I could see my PCM and have my overseas screening paperwork done. Upon arriving at my appointment however, I was told that they couldn't fill it out for me and I'd have to go on base for it. So now it's my husband's job to get the kids and I into the clinic to get the paperwork sorted. I tried and was told no. But honestly, I'm less stressed now. Should my PCM have been able to fill out the paperwork? Absolutely. Did they make up an excuse about being civilian and unable? Yes. But I tried and now all we can do is move forward. The paperwork will get done and we'll find out if the kids and are are cleared to go to Japan with Matt.

So after my useless appoiontment this morning, I came home and cleaned my bedroom and closet while my in-laws kept the kids entertained. That's going to be the trick for me to clean, organize, and pack...have family or friends over to keep the kids occupied so I can really roll up my sleeves. Did I get sidetracked and bounce around a bit as I cleaned? Most definitely. But did I get it done? Yes!

Now I have one clean room and a feeling of accomplishment.

Oh and on a completely different subject-

I ordered our curriculum for homeschooling! Josh starts first grade this fall and I have to truly begin homeschooling full-time instead of here and there. I'm excited and nervous. I went with a Christian curriculum called the Heart of Dakota. We will see how I like it but I have high hopes! We'll be doing Abeka for math right now.

I love that I know exectly what my children will be learning and that they will have God first in everything they do. State schooling = a BIG no thank you from me. I'm excited to get started once we're in Japan!
